Rated 5 out of 5 by Thanh from Very Very Warm Mitts I have cold hands. Even with the best glove I can only wear them for about 20 minutes at -25c (-10f) before my finger become unbearably cold. I have to warm them up for a few minutes in my steamy chest before I can go for another 20 minutes. These mitts are awesome, I know I can be comfortable at around -35 for a couple of hours with them. Never taken them below that. They are comfortable until -15c (5f), it gets too warm after that. They appear pretty well made. The fit is accurate, the cuff is big enough to cover all my "active" laying jacket. They are compressible, but I am not sure if that's good for the glove. Don't expect to tie your lace with these mitts on. Overall, I am very happy with these mitts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by William from Warm hands make for a happy camper, er, skier I'm a 67 year old skier whose circulation, particularly to his extremities, is not what it used to be. My gloves get me to about 15 degrees with hand warmers. Below that temp, I'm unhappy. Upon several recommendations I snagged a pair of Super Light Mitts. I've skied in zero degree and I've walked the pup in single digit weather. I'm a happy camper once again. Easy on; easy off; good secure wrist straps. Very, very well constructed and designed. Thanks Black Diamond. Home, nah, grand slam home run.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Barry from Nice addition to the extreme weather range As someone who has hands that fall on the boundary between medium and large in BD glove sizing I find that the gloves run a little small so I size up to large yet the mitts run a bit large and so I size down to medium. For me this is a great mitten in medium. It fits well and leaves me able to manipulate things without difficulty. Useful additional features include wrist cords to help you not mislay them when you take them off. Good colour(green) for finding them in a sack in the dark or bad weather or early start.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Charles from No Substitute for What It Is This is not a work-a-day mitt. It is a quiver item that is essential when your hands require more than average insulation. And given than it is light weight and low bulk, it can store in your pack for those times when the day ran long, stuff got wet, and you're "calling for backup". Works well enough for a ski pole or ice axe and great while running a camera and need something warm to stuff your paws into. I don't use this every day, but midwinter I will always carry regardless if I think I'll use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Peter from All the warmth you need I recently purchased these as a mitten for larger mountaineering ascents and used them on the Volcanoes of Mexico. Amazing warmth even as my toes froze going up Orizaba these mittens kept my hands nice and warm with a wind chill in the negatives. These are best for people who are looking to keep their hands warm for hours hiking, with some dexterity, they would be more overkill for resort skiing except for those exceptionally cold days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Emilie from the answer to all my prayers These are the warmest mittens I've ever owned! I wear them for everything from walking the dog to days at the ski area when I'm on the chairlift and not producing enough body heat to keep my hands warm. I have Raynauds syndrome and it's always a struggle to keep my fingers alive but these mittens have been the answer! They have these handy elastic wrist leashes so it's easy to slip my hands out to take care of a task.

Rated 5 out of 5 by David from Perfect These mitts are super light and reasonably waterproof. I wore them at 0 F and my hands were warm -- unlike with my BD Guide gloves. (Mitts suffice for XC skiing.) The coldest it got here this winter was -36 F. Instead of using the BD expedition mitts, designed for colder temperatures than these mitts, I'll bring a Hothands pad, which these mitts will accommodate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Chris from Very comfortable and warm mitt We needed something for -20 to +20 degree bicycle commutes to work. It is very comfortable and keeps cold at bay. One of those mitts you look forward to putting on. The palm material is soft and grips well. The actual green color is much more appealing than the web picture.
