Rated 5 out of 5 by Ralph from This is an exact replacement for the one I broke. Occasionally, I have caught a walking stick tip between two rocks, etc. This one occasion I tried to wedge the tip loose and it broke. My fault. I looked on the Black Diamond website to find a replacement. The advertisement said the replacement tip was for a fiberglass stick. I thought that it looked like it should fit my stainless steel tip stick, so I bought it. In my opinion it is an exact replacement for the one I broke. Replacing the broken tip was easy, less than 15 minutes. Thank you Black Diamond. Actually, I bought two sets just in case I ever break another, or a buddy needs one. Well worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Michael from Excellent replacement tip for my do-all poles Simple replacement, matches original, awesome price. What more could I ask for? I've been using BD carbon fiber adjustable poles from around 2000/2001 or so and can't say enough good things about them. I use the poles for skiing (resort and bc) as well as summer hiking/backpacking. I've broken a couple tips on the decomposed granite of Washington's Pasayten Wilderness and replacement was easy using a pair of vice grips sized to slide easily along the carbon shaft but grip the tip. Two person job: one pole holder and one person holding the vice grips who taps them with a hammer to release the old tip.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Janet from The product is fine, but... I got new flex tips to replace a broken original on my BD poles. I followed the directions to remove the old tips, soaking them in boiling water for 3 minutes, then 5 minutes, then 10 minutes, then 15 minutes. Even with 2 people pulling in opposite directions with vice grips, they didn't budge. I finally took the poles down to my local outfitter and they put them in a vice and knocked the tips off with a screwdriver and some expletives. Installation of the new tips was easy and I didn't break either on the 230-mile hike for which I left a few days later.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Eugene from Flex tips do the job. I've had BD Trekking poles for years. I've gone through a few pairs of the shorter tips. Using the longer flex tips makes a bigger difference in deeper snow pack while snowshoeing/hiking in the ADK and CATS. Make sure that you readjust your pole length to compensate for the longer tips.

Rated 3 out of 5 by GEOJOE from Does not work on an old Ascend trekking pole. The tip only went about 1/2 way on my Ascend trekking pole, the tip was swollen where the end of the pole came to. The old poles are bigger around than the newer pole. I tried the pole and the tip broke in half. Black Diamond refunded my money right away, Great customer service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Daniel from New Pole Tips Great! No problem getting the tips onto the pole following the instructions in the package. Friends told me to use a vice and pliers to remove the old tips. This didn't work. When I warmed the old tips in really hot water as per instructions I was able to easily slide the old tips off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Stephen from Easy to remove and replace As the instructions suggest, I put my old tips in boiling water. That made it easy to twist them off. (I tried it cold and there's no way I could remove them!) All seems to work great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Stephan from Good Tips I use these on My Komperdell poles. They work fine. My Komperdell are a rigid super lightweight carbon pole (11 oz a pair). $10 tips are better than buying new $170 poles.
