Rated 4 out of 5 by Gwenyth from Lightweight, comfortable. Sticky adjustment clips Great pole. I took these on a couple weighted-pack training hikes and experienced no lower back pain or soreness ( a frequent complaint of mine). Height was easily adjustable, however one of the clips was a bit difficult to open and close. The others showed no issue so I think this was a one-off fluke. Really liked these light-weight poles. So much so that I'm re-ordering a new pair since mine were stolen from the trail head on my second hike with them. These would be great for mountaineering.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Graham from 3000 miles and still going strong I thru-hiked the entire Pacific Crest Trail with these poles and can't say enough good things about them. The FlickLock design is vastly superior to the Leki twist lock system, which will almost inevitably break and/or loose its holding power over time. The sheer ease of adjusting these poles meant that I was far more likely to use them properly, shortening them for climbs and lengthening them for long descents. These poles are also indestructible. Given the abuse I've put them through, I can't believe they haven't snapped or at least had the tips wear out. I've had other poles with cork handles that start to degrade over time, but the cork on these looks good as new. I encountered a handful of other hikers on the trail with these poles, and everybody raved about them. I've also used them with the snow baskets in Montana and Wyoming in deep powder. Buy these poles, you won't be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by bryan from Skookum poles! I bought these as an upgrade to my BD Trail Ergo poles which are also excellent and have served me well for many years and miles. I am impressed at the jump in quality from those to the Alpine Carbon poles. These are a class act! The Alpine Carbon poles feel much sturdier and solid when weighted. They don't wobble or vibrate when they hit the ground and are way stronger than any tent pole for holding up a shelter or tarp. The adjustment locks are much nicer than any other I've seen. They are solid and easy to use. The cork grips are comfortable and my last pair aged well and proved to be durable. I do like the forward leaning design of the ergo models, especially for descending steep terrain, but these are only offered with a vertical grip. I've put these to some serious abuse and have no doubt they will last a really long time. Definitely a worthwhile investment if you hike with poles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Steve from Fast & easy to adjust, tough I bought these a long time ago. Love the FlickLock design the numbers on side make it easy to adjust to lengths that work for climbs or descents. I’ve had them get stuck in boulders that bent the non-BD models I had before, these keep on going. The cork handles are comfortable and the extra grip below the cork handle is great for those moments when you feel like a walking stick grip. It’s great having the big and small baskets for whatever conditions you meet. AND the snow baskets stay on in deep snow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by gidgit from Solid and sturdy for hiking. I bought these specifically for hiking. I liked that I could put my weight on them at times when hiking down the mountains. I felt these are solid and sturdy and light weight. They are a touch heavier than my friend's Black Diamond 3-fold but she liked mine as she felt they were more solid when putting your body weight on them when necessary. I like the baskets are interchangeable or you don't have to have baskets on. Highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by matthorr from Sturdy and comfortable Nice low weight and very sturdy - I can put weight on it without worrying it will break. The cork handles are very comfortable and the carbon fiber dampens shock well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by george from Well made poles with quality features I am very happy with these poles. The locks to adjust the length are easy to use and appear to be durable. There are certainly lighter poles available, but these feel strong and I certainly don't hesitate to put my full weight on these when necessary. The hand grips and straps are simple and well made.
