  • Heissgeschmiedete Konstruktion.
  • Automatische Verriegelung.

Rated 5 von 5 von aus My Favorite Triple Action Locker I don't use this carabiner for belaying. It's strong in that role, though I find the belay loop capture fiddly when moving between climbs. For my use, the GridLock/Magnetron design really shines when connecting a climber to the middle of the rope with a cowtail--a maneuver that normally requires two lockers opposite and opposed to minimize the possibility of cross loading. A single triple-action, captured-loop carabiner can safely achieve the same effect, and the GridLock Magnetron enables this with a minimum of fuss. It's a dedicated piece on my instructor rack that provides a quick, professional solution and doesn't look MacGyvered.

Rated 5 von 5 von aus Favorite Belay Biner This carabiner is by far my favorite for belaying. The magnets are fail-safe, and having my belay loop separate from my device gives me so much piece of mind! Pros: -Will never cross load if set up correctly -Easy to use, doesn't take much time. (Unlike screwing and unscrewing a traditional gate.) -Looks cool! (Mine is silver with the blue magnets) Cons: -The lockout part of the arm is great, but if you do have someone belay on it who loads it wrong it WILL break. The first time. Immediately. This is what happened to my first one and I bought another because it is so good!

Rated 4 von 5 von aus It works, but awkward I'm very excited for this stealthy looking addition to my rack! Pros: - It is almost impossible to stop it locking when you remove your hands (hint: squeeze the magnets into their beds when the gate is open to make the carabiner lock gate-open) - Nice to save time on screwing in the gate - It looks cool - Definitely stops cross-loading Cons: - Because it's so good at locking, it's quite awkward to get the belay loop into the protected section. It's also awkward to get the rope into the belay device - you end up unlocking it three or four times to set up a belay - Heavy - Not smooth and round for the rope to run over (e.g. vs Petzl Attache) - Not useful as a general biner

Rated 5 von 5 von aus It’s secure for sure I like the simplicity of the magnet lock, I also like how heavy and loud the closing sound it. It just.. sounds secure and it looks really secure. Taken and held quite a few falls already and it’s all good here. I’m most happy with it’s fool proof design though. You can’t really mess up closing it, nor can any bump or accident make it open. You gotta try to open and close it and that’s what matters ya know? Especially when in the hands of a younger one who is easily distracted.. had a screw lock failure one too many times.

Rated 5 von 5 von aus Fast and safe, just takes a little getting used to I love the Magnetron Gridlock. It’s well built and the magnetic catch makes the carabiner a lot easy to open than automatic screwgate ones. That also makes it safer as I do not need to worry that the gate is not closed properly. The feature that prevents cross loading needs a little time and practice to get used to but I prefer Black Diamond’s design rather than others which has an additional spring, which also means one extra step and component that might fail. One other reviewer mentioned that the clearance is too little for his pilot ATC and blamed it for wearing out his belay loop. I can only say yes the clearance makes it a bad design, but it’s the bottom loop that is used with the belay loop, not the top?

Rated 2 von 5 von aus It depends on the belay device The carabiner itself is well made and the Magnetron system is easy to use. In combination with the ATC Pilot, the Gridlock is terrible to use: - The clearance between the carabiner and the ATC Pilot is so minimal, you need to position them precisely within a few millimeters (see picture). It is not just about 'clipping in', it is about 'surgical precision' to get you Pilot, belay loop and Gridlock paired. So... a real struggle every time you're clipping in and in the end it is frustrating. - Due to the minimal clearance, the belay loop wears faster. When comparing my harness with my girlfriends (we both got it at the same time, did roughly the same amount of climbs and both use the Gridlock Magnetron (but different belay devices)), my belay loop is more fluffy compared to hers (see pictures). Not ideal. In the end, I see the potential of the Magnetron system but I would not buy it again nor recommend this product to a friend. When taking the price and handling into account, for me it's not worth it. Of course it depends on the belay device you will be using, but choosing a slightly larger carabiner/different shaped carabiner, might save you a lot of frustrations (and money).

Rated 5 von 5 von aus Perfectly Specialized! I don't own many of the Gridlock Magnetron Carabiners, but the ones that I have get used often as critical links in the chain. For example, when clipping a client into the middle of the rope for glacier travel, or clipping a client into a cows tail when short roping. Knowing that the carabiner stays in the correct orientation and is unlikely to be cross loaded certainly give peace of mind and lets me focus on other tasks.

Rated 5 von 5 von aus Good security The grid is perfect, no need to worry about the carabiner. Not that quick to unlock if using a GriGri, but you get use to it
