JETFORCE

JETFORCE TECHNOLOGY

A. Automatic system self-diagnostic electronics perform “good-to-go” system check on every start up: LED lighting in the handle indicates system status
B. JetForce can redeploy multiple times on a single charge, costing nothing – in time or money – to practice as long as needed. Whether deployed for practice, in a false alarm, or during a slide, it is easy to re-arm the system for up to four deployments on a single charge.
C. Cordura airbag made from puncture-resistant automotive material is easy to repack for practice and multiple deployments
D. The Jet fan inflates 200 L airbag in 4 seconds, and automatically deflates after 3 minutes to create a potential air pocket

Halo 28 JetForce Avalanche Airbag Pack wurde bewertet mit 4.2 von 5 von 23.
Rated 5 von 5 von aus Right choice! This is actually my first airbag, and I'm truly satisfied. Have heard that the zipper does not work when there is a pressure on the left side, so tested it my way; laid on the firm snow on my left side so the airbag pocket is tightly pressed on the ground by my body wight (you may assume that in the avalanche mass the prosure may be stronger, but my point is that if I'm not late to trigger the airbag then the maximum pressure should be my bodyweight on the snow) and the airbag opened with no problem and delay. The only cons are that the space in the bag seems less than 28l, and if 3.5kg is still a bit heavy, that could be modified and lightened, but overall I am happy with Halo 28 and recommend you to get it!

Rated 5 von 5 von aus the thing to bring... I am a professional mountain guide IFMGA and use the Jetforce Halo 28 for all my snow activities such as skitouring, free riding and heli skiing. Sizewise I can fit all the gear I need bring (rope, safety kit, ice axe, skins, first aid kit, satellite phone and more). It is very comfortable to carry and to easy to activate. The LED lamps show exactly the current state of the charge. With the round shaped handle it seems to be less likely to have an unexpected triggering. Since the pack is rechargeable I can use it also for my clients to practice the triggering. I have been traveling with the JetForce as hand luggage several times on airplanes and never had any problems. Sure the BD JetForce AAP is way ahead of any cartridge systems. Happy to use in the future...

Rated 3 von 5 von aus Nice pack but not designed for snowboarders I bought the Halo 28 for riding in Niseko, Japan this January and February. I selected the slightly larger pack as it would be better as a daypack for backcountry. I was setting it up for a trip up Mount Yotei and found that it is only designed to carry skis! Why would you design a pack for skiers only? I like the Jetforce pack but I now cannot recommend it to any other snowboarders as it is not designed to carry a snowboard, and when spending this money on a piece of equipment it should do everything you need it to. Yes I can probably rig it up to carry a board with my own straps somehow but why was it not designed with this in mind and with only ski-straps included? Maybe the next version should be modified to increase the appeal of this product to more people.

Rated 4 von 5 von aus Excellent concept needs a few more features. I am a professional Ski Patroller and an avid mountain snowmobiler, after much contemplation and research I chose this pack. Overall I love the pack. It is a great concept! I try to avoid avalanche terrain in general. I find the multiple deployment concept very appealing for the potential misfire of snagging the handle on a tree limb.. or that awesome friend that just can't resist. I like the ability to travel without refilling canisters. This pack is extremely comfortable to wear all day. Some problems I have found: I don't think it would be too much to ask for a hydration bladder system on the panel. Some sled heads have expressed the desire to move the trigger to the other shoulder... I like it where it is but the ability to customize would be nice. I really wish this pack had a couple small pockets really accessible for a cell phone or Spot transmitter. I have snagged the cover to the airbag on a tree limb... I realize this has to be very easy to release for deployment but a more positive closure system would be nice. 28 just doesn't quite seem to be enough space. 30 or 32 would be nice. I'm extremely happy with the quality and purchase.. but as always how can we make this better? Perhaps build a snowmobile specific model. (there is a huge market for this) whether you like us or not. I can appreciate the technology and research put into this product.. but for the purpose. Wouldn't a smart marketing idea be to make them more affordable so that saving lives is really the goal? spread the cost on the rest of the product line.

Rated 4 von 5 von aus Excellent product, could use some improvement Excellent pack, Fits a lot of gear in the avy pocket. wish list for next version: microfibre goggle pocket instead of nylon. adjustable loops on side to hold poles on downhill. snowboard holder. repacking after inflation is nice and easy. Covering flap does occasionally pop open, but no big deal. comfortable on the back on the downhill.

Rated 5 von 5 von aus you can fly with this bag i have flown by commercial airline 3times with this easy to use bag. I found it very reliable and had lots of room for my second pair of goggles, extra jacket, lunch and probe and shovel. Very easy to follow the directions and test the avalanche pack. then easily repack and understand how it works. would definitely recommend to someone cat or heli-skiing.

Rated 5 von 5 von aus Great Product with a Purpose! I purchased the Halo28 JetForce after much research into the options last fall. Since I am on avalanches regularly the benefit of being able to deploy the bag multiple times is critical to be sure I pull it when I need it and not hesitate. In addition to using this for SAR work I also take it on back country trips, snowmobiling and have one Heli trip to BC using it this year. For mechanical skiing (Heli, SnowCat, snowmobile) the Jet11 is a better size you can't carry much but it is easier to carry and store, but when I am out on a SAR call the 28 is a bit small so it is a nice compromise between the 40 and the 11. I have been on searches with team members using all three sizes and I am happy with the 28, I have to pack light but so far have not had to leave anything behind. In the 3 months I have owned it I have already had it on two avalanches including one where the skier in front of me triggered a slide this month. It provides a greater peace of mind, just don't get too confident with this or any airbag and remember you still have to be alert and ski smart at all times. The Good - Lots of pockets, fits so well do not notice it while skiing, even with over 40 starts and motor tests with each use the battery is still at 4 bars. Carries skies well and I like the helmet straps they work well. Simple to travel with, no problems in airports at all, TSA has not even taken a second look at it. I love the fact that I have zero hesitation to pull the handle - what good is an airbag if you do not deploy it! I have had no issues yet with the bag opening up even though I have used it on many a long day while stuffed - but be sure you have it all tucked back into place before you start. Cons - It weighs a lot, I have been asked several times what I have packed in it when it has been almost empty. Cost, it is not cheap but I am convinced that the electronic airbags are worth the difference in cost. Size, I have found I can carry the basics with the 28 - extra gloves, extra goggles, 1L insulated water, pullover, some food, a small rope, spare batteries, First Aid kit, heat packs, shovel, probe and misc items in the pockets but not much more. It forces you to think about what you really need. Ideally I would like to have an 11 for mechanical skiing and the 40 for searches but that would be above my budget so the 28 is a nice alternative. On avalanche deployments it is hard to hook the essentials to the outside of the 28 pack - things like Ice axes,Crampons, snowshoes, ropes, emergency shelters.... More external straps that do not block the airbag would really help with this. The 40 seems to have better straps for this. I have tried to add some but always worry if they could impact the airbag deploying or will cause the sides to pull open. The zipper to open and close the deployment handle is hard to zip up, when I have gloves on it is very difficult to close it up multiple times a day. This weekend in sub zero temps and extremely high winds I still had to pull my gloves off to get it closed, not good. I think this could be designed better so you could close it with one gloved hand. With all this I would purchase it again, the Halo28 does everything I got it for and gives me more confidence when I'm on a mission. Thanks BD for crating this technology for us!

Rated 3 von 5 von aus Does Not Like to Be Overpacked At All The capacity on this pack is really limited. Which BD tells you; so OK. I had my Halo 28 out for a trial tour last weekend and I jammed my usual kit into it ... thermos of tea, 2nd liter of water (1st L hanging off the waist belt), puffy pants, spare gloves, a lunch, as well as probe and shovel. It was stuffed to the gills, including a fair amount of "overpack" in the probe and shovel compartment ... to the point where i had to wrestle the zipper closed. Halfway out on the tour (of course), the flap on the float compartment that is secured by little plastic clips started to pop open. i stopped repeatedly to re-fasten the clips, to no avail. The overpacking resulted in the clips releasing as soon as i tried to pick the pack up. I returned to the trailhead with the offending flap hanging open. So i make my peace with having to go out with a really limited kit when i ski with this pack. On the positive side, i like the float system - except for the flap fastening components - a lot. Due to its limited capacity, i think that this pack is really better suited for heli, cat or inbounds adventure skiing (like Silverton Mountain CO) than for a full day out in the back country.
