Colorado Avalanche Information Center

The Colorado Avalanche Information Center (CAIC) is the go-to resource for current snow and avalanche conditions in the State of Colorado. The program is a partnership between the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Department of Transportation (CDOT), and the Friends of the CAIC (FoCAIC) a 501c3 group. The mission of the CAIC is to provide avalanche information, education and promote research for the protection of life, property and the enhancement of the state’s economy.

Northwest Avalanche Center

The Northwest Avalanche Center (NWAC) is a collaborative effort between the US Forest Service Northwest Avalanche Center and the non-profit Northwest Avalanche Center. The mission of NWAC is to save lives and reduce the impacts of avalanches on recreation, industry and transportation in the Cascade and Olympic Mountains of Washington and northern Oregon through mountain weather and avalanche forecasting, data collection and education.

Utah Avalanche Center

From the time you roll out of bed until the time you hit the driveway, this app makes it easier to figure out where the best snow is, what avalanche, weather, and road conditions to expect, and which slopes will have the best and safest conditions. Daily avalanche advisories for 7 regions around the state from the Utah Avalanche Center

Daily field observations from a small army of volunteer observers as well as the UAC staff

Road conditions including avalanche closures, road travel restrictions, and canyon road webcams

Mountain weather information including current conditions, forecasts, satellite loops, radar, and mountain weather cams

Emergency contacts and your GPS location for a fast rescue response

A slope evaluation tool using your camera, containing your GPS location, steepness, aspect, elevation, time, and date

Ability to photograph a slope watermarked with GPS location, steepness, aspect, elevation, time, and date and share that photo
