Rated 5 out of 5 by dan from Excellent rope, great middle line! I had been divided between getting a bi-pattern rope or this one and what won me over was the ridiculously easy to see midline here. Even if I'm setting up a repel in the dark, you can't miss it. The rope is high quality as is assumed from BD products, has a nice feel to it and is perfectly uniform. Also for the price and this being a 70M rope, I couldn't be happier. I had compared with a Sterling bi patterned rope which was significantly more money and this rope will more than meet my needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by jaime from Great rope!!!!! I got this rope a few weeks ago. I love it. I don't like stiff ropes or ropes that feel static like cables. This rope is soft and handles really well. I got the 9.9 in hopes it'll last longer, the nice thing is it feels smaller than a 9.9. It's really a great rope!

Rated 1 out of 5 by scooter from Retired after 2 months of moderate use I have now had 3 Black Diamond ropes and so far I have been happy with the other ones. I have had a 9.2 80m, 9.4 70m, and this rope, 9.9 70m. All the other ropes have held up well. However, this rope was trashed after 2 months of moderate use. It is somewhat confusing for me considering that it is the thickest BD rope I have had by quite a large margin. I used this rope for moderate trad climbing and some sport climbing. It saw some falls but none were big and the rope was never running against sharp edges or anything during use. After two months of climbing on it, the rope had small core shots in two places and multiple places will significant sheath damage. Apparently BD's thinner ropes have better durability than their "workhouse" 9.9mm.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Josh from Solid Rope I bought this for program use. It's going to get a lot of top rope traffic. Already it seems to wear well and take the abuse. Not too stiff and is smooth enough in the hand. I would like to see the 9.9 with dry treatment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kent from Handles well, excellent sheath texture I have been a big fan of Sterling ropes for years (Evolution Velocity). Honestly, this rope handles just as well, or better, and has a substantially better price point. I particularly like the exterior finish. Even right out of the bag it’s not too hard, not too soft. Handles very well through the Gri Gri (1 and 2). Between projecting and beating them up at The Creek, we go through a couple of ropes per year. This is absolutely my new go to! Our friends at BD have killed it on this product!

Rated 2 out of 5 by ndchu from Surprisingly not durable, but nice soft feel After only a couple month of use, there are a number of places on the sheath that have worn and a couple places of pretty squishy core. This rope has certainly seen some abuse, but not much more than many other ropes I've had or seen that responded better. This rope has a nice feel and soft catch. But it's less of a workhorse/awkward TR thrasher than I had hoped.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Rojmahal from No Complaints Works fine. I'm an average climber, who doesn't fall much. I don't push much pat 5.10c. Feel goid as a lead, and belay on lead. However, it has a tendency to pigtail up on top-rope. Not bad, but enough to be annoying. Price is what I expected for the oerformance.

Rated 4 out of 5 by damien from Impressed Still early on to give a complete review, but so far, with several cragging days and a multipitch day - definitely enjoying this rope. Great hand, feels durable, soft catches, and feels light for the diameter. First time I've branched out from another rope manufacture in a long while, but so far, no regrets!
