Rated 5 out of 5 by Jeff from Pretty much the perfect pack... Bought the 15L instead of the 25L because the latter was out of stock. Glad I did! While "perfect" is highly subjective, I found this size to handle more than I expected. Extra layers, a 48oz Nalgene, snacks, hats, glasses, whatever... pretty awesome. I use this as an inbounds/sidecountry pack and it sustains me for whatever may lay ahead. Of course, the 25 will hold more but for lift serviced skiing and less than epic use, bigger would be detrimental and excessive. The internal avy equipment slots work well for other things (like holding a Nalgene stationary within the pack) and the small zippered pocket on top holds a beanie, sunglasses, wallet, more than you might expect. Shoulder straps are very comfortable, waist belt is low profile, and its avalung ready. Super nice, lots of stoke, disappears while skiing or trekking. Totally dig it. BD has produced yet another winner!

Rated 2 out of 5 by andrew from Avoid if you're even moderately tall. Excellent pack that I'd want to give 5 stars too, but it's basically sized for a child. Normally I have no issue with one-size-fits-all packs, but this one was tiny. I know that I'm tall at 6'5", but the waist/hip strap still sat a full 8" above my belly button, and it sits right across the diaphragm muscle and impedes breathing. Black Diamond really should make two sizes. I'd have no issue with a taller model being larger at maybe 20-25L so long as the additional space came from added length, not any added depth since I'm looking for a sidecountry pack that's as good off-piste as it is on-piste where you want a shallow pack that is comfortable on chairlifts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Taylor from Sweet, small pack I got through a lot of backpacks ski touring and I'm pretty finiky when it comes to what I want on my back for a 7 hour skin. Amazing adjustability, love the way they divided the avy gear from other pockets. However, I wish I went with the 25L. I can carry bare bones equipment, but I can get a small puffy or anything "excess" in there. It's still an incredibly designed pack, just make sure you know what kind of gear you usually carry and how much space you'll need.

Rated 5 out of 5 by applepride from Perfect for essentials I’m sure you could use this for light off-resort exploring, but I got this for resort essentials. A shirt, spare goggle lens and hat, snacks and a 1.5L hydration pack fit perfectly. It’s kind of long for a 15L pack but it’s low profile and seemed really well supported. On lifts I didn’t feel like I had to sit on the edge of my seat. The helmet carrier was clutch, the insulated hose pocket kept my hose from freezing and it has a lot of inside pockets to keep things organized. Couldn’t be happier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Crusty from Ideal Ski / Mt Bike Patrol Pack! Perfect for the essential items Patrollers need to carry. The large main compartment is divided to help keep first aid supplies separate from tools/ extra clothing. While listed as 15 liters, this pack seems much larger! It holds a lot, but still maintains a very low profile - excellent quality. While I originally purchased this to use just for winter, I think it will be perfect for mt. bike patrolling too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by PaulB16 from Perfect with a minor modification Been looking for a minimal pack for side country hikes and lapping days that disappears—I hate wearing packs, don't like skiing without adequate hydration, and prefer to avoid resort lunch prices. This 15L solves all three of those problems. BD gear is always top-notch, but there are two improvements I'd make: 1) shoulder straps need a half dozen extra inches—as another reviewer mentioned, it is sometimes hard to get on and off (I'm not a big guy) and 2) needed a couple tie downs for keys and random stuff. I sewed in a loop in the top compartment for keys and things using a piece of 550 paracord. Then added a d-ring to the top center of the main compartment along the edge. Both additions are simply sewn into the extra edge/hem fabric and do not puncture the bag at all. Now it's nearly perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Wildman22 from Patrol Pack BD products last forever and are ALWAYS well designed. I bought this to use as a Patrol Pack. Its perfect, except.... My only issue is that the ski carry holds on bottom of pack are too narrow to slide a modern ski into and are not usable for a ski other than something from 1982. There are two opening instead of one wide one.
