Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything I was looking for and more I've been waiting to get this jacket since I saw it a few months ago. I actually ordered the older Spring 2018 version in Curry - which I hoped would turn out to be more of a coyote brown (it was). I'm 5'10, 170lbs and the Medium fits perfectly with a slim fit. The length of the jacket matches perfectly with my body but the sleeves bunch up a small amount when keeping my arms down by my sides. Yet, when I raise my arms, the sleeves do stay around my wrists so when climbing it doesn't ride too high when reaching. I couldn't be happier with the fit and warmth of the jacket, plus it looks great. Keep up the great work, Black Diamond.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Its a hoodie, that falls apart Got this about 3 months ago, and the troubles were already apparent when it arrived. The cloth near the pockets already seemed to be falling apart. Thought nothing of it. Now its just gotten worse, many of the seems and hems are starting to fall apart. The hoodie also seemed to stretch a ton since the beginning and now it's very baggy on me. I wasn't using it that often, once a week on average. Seems like a common theme looking at the other reviews that some are not made very well. Expected more. Tried to contact customer service about it, waited 3 weeks, sent another email, waited another week and have heard nothing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight, yet warm I am out in the San Juans every weekend here in SW CO, I was looking for a reliable mid layer for a wide range of activites, hiking, backpacking, backcountry skiing, glissading, etc. I already have a Deployment Hybrid from a couple years back that I was using as a basis for comparison and this fit the bill perfectly. Warm in late fall/winter alpine squalls, yet not overly toasty when summiting your local 14er in summer. I was suprised at how light it is and compressible, but make no mistake that it will keep you warm when combined with a suitable shell for those bomber backcountry days or late afternoon rain showers come mid July. I will buy another one in a heartbeat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Killer Touring Jacket!! This piece is a must have in your collection... It's like the First Lite Hoody but for warmer, dryer days. I absolutely love the way the hood fits. It's not adjustable for a reason. When you need some warmth, throw the hood on and zip 'er up. It's like having a beanie on that can cover most of your head. The First Lite Hoody (not the hybrid) is amazing but doesn't breathe like the hybrid does. This doesn't have as much insulation but it breathes like a dream and keeps you dry for the most part. You don't want to wear this on a day when it's dumping or raining, but if its a light amount of moisture you should be golden. I'm a BD advocate and this is a big time piece in my collection. BD makes incredible gear and stands behind it. Not cheap but definitely worth it. Buy nice, not twice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hands down most versatile jacket I own. owned this since the day it came out and have used it nonstop. One piece of gear i never leave home without . I use a lot of BD products but this one is the most well thought out and fits perfectly into that mid layer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ski touring king I've used this jacket for a few weeks of ski touring, as a layer in sub zero conditions and on sunny spring days (Colorado weather...). I run hot but I can keep this thing on all the way to the top and throw a single layer on for the down. The only issue im having is the durability of the fabric around the cuffs, any Velcro from gloves or causes scufs and there is already a small hole. I put some nylon tape on the cuffs and now they don't get hung up on my gloves, easy fix. This is a great jacket with only one small problem, I would highly recommend.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Warm, but heavy and doesn't pack down Took this on a 38 day expedition and was really disappointed in the performance, while it kept me warm it was heavy relative to other, warmer layers I brought with me. It did not pack down too well, taking up more room than a a puffy and puff pants combined. It looks great and is plenty warm, but this jacket will not be coming into backcountry with me anymore.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor Craftsmanship, Poorer Fit. Item was shipped new and my first observation was WOW, Black Diamond: What happened to making garments fit constantly? I am 6'0 and 155lbs, and ordered a Mens M. For reference: The fit of the MY2019 Mens Crag Hoodie and my MY2014 Mens Coefficient Fleece Hoody fit PERFECTLY in a Mens M. The First Light Hybrid Hoodie in a Men's M is short and boxy. Fit seems more similar to a Patagonia and North Face fit -- intended to be worn for style and purchased at shopping malls rather than be used by athletes. Have found much more consistency in similar offerings from Dakine, Arcteryx, and Outdoor Research. Not to mention the build quality has gone downhill. Much of the stitching was loose throughout the sleeves and zipper. Will be returning.
