Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better Than Others, but Need improvement There's a lot I like about these leashes. The simplicity is great. The spinner keeps the leashes from getting tangled, and the steel carabiners clip into the spike of most tools. Great. Well, how about some improvement? First, the elastic is a bit stronger than necessary. The stronger the elastic, the more energy it takes when reaching and swinging with the tools. It also increases the risk of a rebound when the tools are dropped. The carabiners are steel, and have a fairly sharp nose, without a locking feature or a real gate. Not too big a deal, but definitely an area for improvement. A different interface with tools could make these more seamless, and lighter weight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved my tools! I got this in the mail the day before I left for my first ice climbing trip to Hyalite. I led WI3 and WI4 the first day and dropped one tool...thank you spinner leash. We climbed a multi-pitch climb the second day (The Dribbles-great climb!) and I dropped another tool half way up the route...thank you AGAIN spinner. I was already having a bad day (see photo). I was pumped on day three leading the WI4 at Ousel Falls by big sky and thought that I would either drop the tool or fall flat off the flow when a section of ice the size of my kitchen table dinner plated...not that the spinner is rated for a fall but I had one tool buried SOLID outside the plating and I have to admit, I was glad that I had that spinner leash on. I'm very happy that I got into the Umbilical early and I think that I will continue to use it when appropriate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tether system, works pretty flawlessly Took it up on multi pitch alpine route in the sierra a few months back. Thinking about it now, pretty impressed how it just stayed out of the way and honestly can't even remember it being there! Will probably get another set for my second tools for when I loan them out. Much better than the P... brand one haha

Rated 4 out of 5 by from As expected. This product is pretty simple and straight forward in purpose and design. I'm 6'1" and lurpy and there is plenty of stretch in the leash for my highest swings. The steel attachment points are super easy to use with gloves on, much easier than you would expect. The girth hitch loop for harness attachment is just a bit small and requires some wiggling to get it cinched up. The leash as a whole does a decent job at staying out the way during climbing. For me, it's definitely been worth the investment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps you connected without being noticed. Ice climbing is equipment intensive, pairing down where you can. I've made the spinner leash part of my climbing family... Wally.
