Rated 4 out of 5 by iworedettos from nice warmth for the weight i've been using these gloves for about a month, skiing on the east coast and in colorado. the overmitt adds a surprising amount of warmth when things get chillier and the gloves work well in, ya know, glove mode. they dry quicker than other primaloft gloves that i've used around this weight. i haven't abused mine enough to see how the palm side of overmitt holds up over time, being worked against pole grips, etc., the only question mark i have so far. at the moment, pretty happy with this investment. versatile setup. if you want to run liner gloves under these, definitely size up one size. the cuff is pretty snug (on me).

Rated 5 out of 5 by Alex from Awesome lightweight gloves I bought these gloves over a year ago while getting some equipment to for a backcountry ski tour in CO. Nothing but good things to say! Flip the hood over while touring especially if it gets windy - the pertex shell adds warmth but mostly cuts the wind. Easy to take the hood off if you need finger dexterity for anything. Used these ski touring in Jan between the 10th Mtn Division huts, some winter hiking 14ers, and on Rainier before going to my bigger OR gloves. Love these guys - perfect mid glove and fills that niche spot between a liner and a full up bulkier glove! Definitely would recommend to a friend and will be buying a new pair when my current one falls apart.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Brody Leven from Ski secret I don’t think enough people use these for human powered skiing. Our hands are one of the first things to heat up/cool off, and speed and efficiency is maximized by comfort. My favorite way to dump/gain heat is through gloves, but changing them is annoying, as is taking them off. These allow me to quickly have three glove options: no gloves (I hook these together and put them on an ice clipper on my waist belt), light gloves, or mittens for the summit ridge. Then I only end up changing my gloves once all day, for the descent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by VtVolk from Wicked Warm I've been a huge fan of BD's simple softshell gloves for touring over the past few winters, with the midweight being my go-to on the uphill and the heavyweight on sub-zero days or as a warmer glove to put on at the top on moderate days. The Wind Hood gloves take the existing formula, keep all the good things, and add a level of warmth with the wind hood that greatly exceeds my expectations. Granted, it isn't deep winter yet, but on my last two tours I've been able to avoid switching gloves/mitts at the top and simply flipped the hood over my fingers before descending and have remained perfectly warm. For a thin flap of nylon, it's amazing how much heat they retain. The only slight downside is reduced breathability on the back of the thumb and wrist where the hood is stored, but it's a trade-off I'm happy to make. I suspect the hood will also slow down the drying process if they wet out, but again, it's worth it. This is a niche product for sure, but if you love BD's softshell gloves, you'll love the Wind Hoods.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dylan R from Great Glove / Mitten Bought for my wife whose hands get cold easily. She uses for daily activities, and for touring up.. Not ideal when it is snowing hard, but otherwise work really well - versatility of gloves, with warmth and wind block of mittens

Rated 5 out of 5 by Liam from Good for uphill Awesome gloves, great for the uphill. Would love to see same glove concept but have the mitten part be insulated with the fingers only a thin shell.
