Our Z-Pole Technology was born from our expertise in avalanche probes—by using a three-section shaft, a concealed inner Kevlar cord and innovative speed cones, our collapsible Z-Poles snap into place and lock with a single pull.

When not in use, a single push button releases the pole for compact storage.

FlickLock Pro is the evolution of our trusted FlickLock design. The benefits that made FlickLock the best pole-locking mechanism on the market remain: it's secure, fast and easy to use. The FlickLock Pro's low-profile, stainless steel design, however, provides a dramatic improvement in quality, feel and clamping force.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Effective BC nunchucks for Yeti deterrent I'll start off by saying that I had about 40 days on snow with these poles and experienced no problems. As a splitboarder I opted for the collapsable option to fit in my pack. I experienced the same problems as others, the sleeve slides into the pole and you're left with nunchucks. While nunchucks obviously rule, they don't help too much with kick turns. I contacted BD and they were great and fixed them quickly. Day 2 after receiving them back from repair, the same issue happened again. I would save your money and just buy the Expedition 3's and live with strapping your poles to the outside of your pack.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from As usefull as numb chucks in the backcountry I love splitboarding. An inherent downside is having to use poles. The only thing that makes carrying poles worse is when they continually fail. These poles work AWESOME until.... Yesterday, on my most recent set of the compactor poles, they catastrophically failed. Again. This time at an all time new record pace of 4 days of uphill use. There is a serving sleeve that connects the upper two sections of pole and it is fixed to the inside of the pole with insufficient means (junky glue?). This connection eventually fails, and when it does, the connection sleeve slides down into the lower/ middle section of the pole. This is the 4th compactor over the past 3 years that has failed me due to the same malfunction. The pole instantly becomes as useful as numbchucks in the backcountry. Cool lookin, but effectively useless. BD customer service has always been stellar and replaced or warrantied the issue with no questions, which is why I hadn't moved on yet. Fixing the issue is almost impossible at a fully tooled workbench, let alone in the backcountry. Going forward, I'll be riding with another company for my poles until a new version is released. If you're REALLY light on your gear, you may have better luck then me. This same problem happens on the non-carbon version too, albeit at a slower rate. My guess is because the aluminum flexes and stretches sightly less than the carbon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These are sweet It's a lot to pay for poles but they really are great in the backcountry. I'm a split boarder that mostly tours with skiers so I found these poles were the best option to decrease my transition time. They take 2 seconds each to fold and 1 second to extend. They are obviously strong and light as well. I did the have the internal chord of an older model break on me last season which left me needing to tape it to skin back up and out but BD replaced it as a defect. I've had no problems other than that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these poles. I've had these poles over the past few seasons. They are light and compact. I love them for splitboarding and find myself taking them trekking now days in the summers too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfy and lightweight I had the regular Compactor poles for a number of years (I even hiked the AT with them). I finally snapped one snowshoeing so I invested in Carbon Compactors this time. I’ve skied with them twice and snowshoed with them twice in approx 10 days. They are wonderfully lightweight, and they feel just as sturdy as my last pair.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great pole, wish they were adjustable I use these for splitboarding. After a year and a half of solid use, they are still in great shape. I have not had any problems with these. They store away nicely on the side of my pack for the downhill. They collapse to a small, manageable size that will even fit in most touring packs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poles don't stay locked when trying to use Poles will not stay in locked posistion even after one use. I've had friends try to fix to no avail. One of the poles will go "up and down" when trecking uphill and can't fix. I should have returned ASAP but was a present and did not have receipt.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far so good! These poles feel sturdy and are wicked light-weight. Carbon fiber is always a bit of a gamble in my book but worth it for the weight saved. Looking forward to taking these up and down a few more times and seeing how they hold up.
