Speed Zip 33 Pack is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome pack ! Zip speed 33 A well thought out pack. I love the hidden helmet carrier. Zipper opening makes getting things in and out a snap. It opens up wide unlike other packs that cinch down with a cord. Super low profile so climbing with it is like it's not even there. The top lid on other packs hit the back of my head while climbing. Not an issue with this pack. The only complaint I can muster up it the Velcro attachments for the ice tools. They are not glove friendly. I changed those out with shock cord. Now glove friendly. The pack when fully loaded for a day out around 25/30 lbs. carries very well, stable, and well balanced. Another winner for the Black Diamond Design team !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing rucksack! I've had this pack for nearly a year now and could not be happier! I use it for everything from hill walking to summer and winter climbing to multi-day ski tours and it does everything I need it to. It is so quick to get things in and out, and the rope strap and helmet carrier are super handy. I've always had a problem with the top of my packs getting in the way while climbing but with this one I don't even know it's there. Two minor things I would change - make the velcro ice axe straps glove friendly, and stitch in the top compression strap so it doesn't slide through. Other than that, this bag is perfect!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick, Versatile, Lightweight, Zipper I already own the Mission 55 and 75 packs but I wanted something smaller for ascents. I researched countless packs on multiple websites for hours to include outdoorgearlab. I looked at Arc'teryx Alpha FL 45, CiloGear 45L WorkSack, Patagonia Ascensionist 45, and Ortovox Trad 35 (which I almost bought). It took a week or so to decide which pack to purchase and I ended up choosing BD. This pack sits close to your back, is very versatile for ice tool and crampon attachments, and is durable. It is also the most cost effective as I provides you with the necessary feature at a better price than competitors. My favorite feature that is different than the BD Mission Series is the zipper. The Mission Series packs are drawstring and clips while the speed zip is a zipper. I enjoy how quickly I can grab equipment from inside this pack. I enjoy the hipbelt and framesheet being fully removable for times I want to carry this pack in a larger pack for longer trips. I highly recommend this pack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome 24hr pack I bought this as a function first pack for ground based SAR. It is simple, easy to use and well built. I love the wide zip opening and external velcro attachements which I use for my trekking poles. It's hydration compatible, and has a nice stiff back with removable bivy pad. Gorgeous.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic pack I bought this last month for a winter climbing trip to Scotland. The pack performs incredibly well providing multiple features whilst maintaining a minimalist design perfect for almost all alpine pursuits. Stood up to Scottish winter (snow, rain, ice) and seemed very durable and robust. Has a very slim profile making it fantastic for climbing, and allowing you to push your grade unimpeded.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Speed Zip 33: A Pack for Every Occasion! I bought this pack several months ago and have since used it almost daily. It has served as a crag pack, multi-pitch pack, bike commuter pack and back country ski pack. This little helper is perfect for many uses, highlights being the helmet carrier, extendable rope strap and it's ability to keep pack contents dry. I am always really stoked to fill this pack up for the next outing. This is a great purchase and has stood up to several months of consistent and varied use. Happy trails!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from With great features comes great speed. Picked this pack up last week and did a 2 day solo backpacking trip in the Weminuche Wilderness and up Rio Grande Pyramid. I'd been eyeing this pack for a while now and glad I finally pulled the trigger buying on. The color isn't nearly as "orange" as it looks online and if the non zip Speed packs ever came in a red, I'd get one of those in a heartbeat. I'm only giving it 4 stars since I did have to cut and melt some extra fabric that kept catching on the main zipper. As long as it doesn't unthread, this should be fine. I was a bit worried about the sizing. Being 6' 0"/180, I used my current Osprey Exos 58 as a guide and went with the M/L. The M/L is nearly identical frame size to my HMG IcePack 2400 Medium. The Speed Zip 33 hikes awesomely. Even when sweating hard after 10+miles in humid and hot conditions with it nearly fully loaded, I didn't have any chaffing or sore spots. It also climbs great on 3rd and 4th class rock with minimal shifting. Did get it on some icy, abrasive summer snow I was able to glissade and didn't notice any issues with the bottom fabric, which usually happens with my other, less well made packs. The rope/helmet carry features are a huge plus. Can't wait to get this in some couloirs and on some ice. Not sure it'll replace my Millet pack for skimo, but definitently has the chance to.
