Mary McIntyre and I recently explored a select kit of strengthening exercises specifically designed to improve ski touring mechanics and avoid the all-too-common hip flexor burn out. By strengthening the sides and backs of the hips we can offset the over-use of our hip flexors and improve our efficiency on the uphill which buys us more time, more laps and more days out!
