Rated 1 out of 5 by from Avoid I bought these in Jackson, WY as part of an epic 10-day ski trip. Jackson, Big Sky, and Tahoe were on the itinerary, so I splurged on these having heard so many good things about Black Diamond poles. Well... the locking mechanism on these poles is junk. If you put any (and I mean any) weight on these poles (say to traverse or just build momentum to jump on a lift), the locking mechanism fails. I must have had to pull my gloves off to resize these poles over 75 times in 10 days. I just wish I had kept the receipt. I will add photos later of how these 10 day old poles look like they have been used for years...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from They're Ski Poles! I had been skiing with an old pair of aluminum flick lock poles but one of the straps broke and BD no longer makes a replacement. So I splurged a bit and sprung for the Razor Carbon at the end of the season. I finally got a chance for a couple of spring ski days and to try them out. So bottom line is I like them but they're ski poles and I can't get too excited about poles. They look good; overall weight seems about the same as my old aluminum poles though the weight may be distributed differently; the flick lock length adjustment works; and they're comfortable in terms of the handles, straps, and the rubber grip for choking up on the poles. I rarely ski with my hands in the straps except on long flats when I might be poling and so didn't go for the "pro" version which some reviewers didn't like. My primary concern will be durability and reliability and I haven't had them long enough to assess those qualities yet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice adjustable ski poles I bought these poles so I could adjust them for down hill and cross country skiing. The locking mechanism to adjust the pole length works fine. There is a screw to adjust the flick lock grip so the pole length does not change inadvertently. As far as the baskets staying on, there is no trouble there. I have a 10 year old pair of Black Diamond trekking poles. These old poles came with two pairs of baskets, winter powder baskets and much smaller lighter summer trail baskets. I switched them out every season. I am using the smaller baskets on these new ski poles. They are much lighter and improve the balance of the poles when you swing them forword. Another thing i like about these ski poles is that that the straps are designed to stay open so you can slip your gloved hand in easily. Now I only need to figure out how to keep someone from swiping them off the rack.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like these poles I know this is nit picky but I would prefer if these poles had a third telescoping section. With the two the poles don't collapse to fit in a pack. I wanted poles that I could use at the resorts and the backcountry so I settled for these. If they could collapse to fit in a pack they would be the one quiver pole. The integrity of the pole is good, they are light as anything, so they will suit me for quite some time. I do like the grips below the handles for hiking up steeper stuff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Ski Pole Pole is well balanced, Grip is firm and comfortable. Locking mechanism is strong and I have not had any slipping of the sections. Real solid pole.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid workhorse Simple and solid, these just work. Good strength to weight balance.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Basket fell off I bought these poles for skiing. I put on both baskets, I thought correctly. The first run, 1 fell off. Retrieved it 1 run later. Had my ski guru friend reattach it, and it fell off the next run. Could not find the lost basket. Can't tell if a single basket issue or design flaw
