How-to Video: Fitting Black Diamond Gloves and Mitts

Enforcer Gloves is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great glove, love wearing them, climbed at below zero. I wrote a similar, longer review for the Punisher glove. In summary, I wore these a lot climbing at or below zero in Hyalite last year. My wife and I both own these and spent a couple days outside for 6-8 hours at -10F. I'm not the most experienced ice climber and I waste a lot of energy and lose a lot of circulation overgripping and struggling with the occasional ice screw (who doesn't?). I lead multi-pitch WI4 and these gloves kept me warm. As I said in my other review, I'll climb in these or the Punisher any day over my MH Hydra Pros but will bust out the OR Luminary's if I get cold. I will wear these with confidence on our 4 weeks of climbing trips already planned for this winter.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Provides warmth while allowing your fingers to flex I purchased an XL glove but noticed that the gloves needed to be stretched before providing warmth. After my fingers started to get numb from being restricted while using the gloves in 8 degree weather. My fingers felt restricted so I wore the gloves in the house for 30min clinching my fists and opening my hand several times. I performed this exercise several times over two days. The third day I wore the gloves again and they were less restrictive providing more warmth. These gloves require them to be stretched prior to wearing to gain the full benefited of the glove. There should be a caveat that states the gloves need to be stretched to provide maximum warmth.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warm, grippy, and gotta have a gauntlet Climbing ice in below 0 temps, while being soaked by defaulty water sprayers on our home grown tower is just a part of the joy of my winters. These gloves are definitely warmer than my older pair of punishers. I went with the enforcers instead of a new pair of punisher gloves because I can't stand under the cuff gloves in snow, ice and freezing spray. The gauntlet design and easy to use draw/realease cord is great! Though bulkier they still work well for working on sprayer systems, ropes, biners, and I have not noticed any difference in my grip on ice tools. I stuck with BD for my second big purchase of climbing gloves because my old pair lasted through very rough abuse for four years, kudos!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good, But not great. I had high hopes for these gloves, I thought I would never need another pair of cold weather gloves once I found these. Overall the build quality is good, but after only a few hours outside my hands end up wet. At first i thought maybe it was sweat but even during non-physical activities in sleet/snow the weather soaks through. It almost seems like I need to re-waterproof them. I've loved using my other BD gear like my coefficient balaclava and Icon headlamp, unfortunately these gloves leave something to be desired, especially at this price point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gloves for when it's dang cold out These are the gloves you keep packed away for a brutally cold lead. They are super warm and still allow plenty of dexterity for a spicy lead. Definitely not your go to glove for leading, but you'll sure be happy to have them when you need 'em.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good gloves It’s 11 degrees in NYC with a windshield of -4. I bought these for my dad because his hands get cold relatively easy. Doing casual activities and traveling throughout the city he’s fine. However, these last about 15-20 minutes before his fingers get cold while shoveling, and he has to run inside to warm up before continuing. Better than the gloves he was accustomed to I suppose.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super warm but could be more dexterious These gloves make a great addition to the quiver. They are super warm and have yet to wet out on me. However there is a tradeoff in dexterity, and it's pretty tricky to be able to quickly grab biners and place screws with these on. That said they are great for warming up your hands during belays or descents and would be fine for general mountaineering or skiing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great glove Great glove for everything, not only ice climbing. ergo style fingers help grab ice tools, ski poles, shovels. the liners do not remove, and i have had a bit of trouble if your hands overheat and get wet to try and put glove back on even though liners are sewed in, just takes a bit of finger wigglin..padded knuckes is a bonus
