Description

For midweek dawn patrols, all-night approaches, or just big climbing objectives that push beyond daylight, the Black Diamond Spot 325 has 325 lumens of power, now housed in a smaller, more efficient design. With a new, compact body, the Spot 325 has been redesigned with a lower profile for better balance and is more ergonomic for added comfort. We’ve also updated the user interface by adding a second switch for easy lens mode selection. In addition, the updated optical efficiency not only provides brighter light with more peak intensity, but also saves battery life that you can now easily track with a six-setting, three-LED battery meter. The Spot 325 also offers peripheral lighting for close-range activities like sorting gear, cooking, or reading in camp and it sports an IPX8 waterproof housing. The Brightness Memory feature allows you to turn the light on and off at a chosen brightness without reverting back to a default setting. Plus, the Spot 325’s PowerTap Technology makes for instant brightness adjustment settings.

  • "PowerTap™ Technology allows instant transitioning between full and dimmed power
  • Compact, low-profile design uses three AAA batteries, included
  • Brightness Memory allows you to turn the light on and off at a chosen brightness without reverting back to full or mid-power
  • Settings include full strength in proximity and distance modes, dimming, strobe, red night-vision and lock mode
  • Multifaceted optical lens design
  • IPX8: Waterproof-Tested to operate at least 1.1 meters underwater for 30 minutes. If submerged, water may enter the battery compartment and it will still operate; it should be completely dried out after use in wet conditions."

Spot 325 Headlamp is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 45.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great headlamp! I bought couple of months ago previous model Spot. Everything was great instead of big yellow spot at the center. Warranty service was fast and responsible and replaced the lamp. Unfortunately the second one also had exact the same yellow spot. I was almost disappointed from Black Diamond's quality, but I decided to try the new model and I bought it. Now I'm happy with it! No yellow spot, even more compact and powerful, than the old one. The only bad thing is, now I have old Spot, that I will never use. Great work with the new model, but please be more careful for the quality, because previous model have commonplace problem.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great lamp, but it weaks Bought one and was really impressed by the control features. The max output was more than adequate for running in pitch dark early morning in Seattle winter. Would give a 5-star if I didn't experience, 1) the battery seems to drain a little faster than it claims, but not precise measurement here. Just an impression. 2) At the first battery change, only to find out that inside compartment, there's rust around battery interface. It was used only for running, not swimming. I do sweat a lot and ran in Seattle rain, but I never had any issues with older models in the past. Hope it was a bad batch or something. Because I really liked it, but not meant to be. Should have taken photo, but I already returned to REI.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superlative features for the price This excellent product is marred due to the omission of some text in the Instructions sheet. In particular, a description of (1) the function of the round button on top, and (2) a description of the three lights. Both topics, however, are covered in a video available for viewing on the Black Diamond site.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Replacement battery problem Light is great I Used it numerous times but when the original Duracell OEM batteries finally died I went to replace them with new Duracells and the lamp would not work. I tried numerous new Duracell batteries and it still did not work and that is all I had at the time . Find out other battery brands will work in the light. Very strange that new store bought duracells will not work in the light. Seems like a connection issue. And yes the batteries I've tried have power, I tested them in other product's.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from why the low burn time compared to last years model Its bright and functional but one thing I noticed and even based in the description is the burn time on high is only 4 hours vs last years 30 hours. Not worth the extra 25 lumens . All the newest models have terrible burn hours on high. WHY? What happened? the long burn hours on high and high lumen output is why I buy BD.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Spot 325 Looking for Black Diamond's comment I bought 2 of the new new Spot 325 headlamps this week. My instructions (I see the website instructions have updated to show "runtime") show burntime 300h for the spot only on max brightness of 325 lm. Or 20h for the diffuse light only on max brightness of 40 lm. 1. Where can I see a curve of lumens vs time? 2. Can you show a comparison curve of alkaline vs lithium? 3. Why does the lower lumen diffuse light last less time? Is that LED that much less efficient? 325lm for 300 hr or 40 lm for 20h makes no sense. 4. Website instructions show Runtime 4h + Reserve of 36h. But my Spot 325 instructions show a burntime of 300 hours!!! That does not add up and gets into trickiness, which is part of the reason I'm hoping you can explain and also provide the curves above. 5. The 2 button controls are a major improvement over my previous spot and storm. Good Job.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Helpful Video The video was a big help to get up and running quickly with this headlamp. Most important, it showed me how to open the back to put the batteries in place. Wish the written instructions had been clearer on that one detail -- I was afraid I would break the headlamp just trying to open the door!
