Rated 4 de 5 de Ryan par Great glide, great traction, poor tip loop design I'm not sure what else you'd want from skin performance. These things stick, have excellent traction, and glide well. The one downside is the tip loop installation. As mentioned in other reviews, the screws used for fastening the tip loop to the skin are prone to premature shearing. I was required to use a metal file to "fix" a screw that broke before it could be tightened down. While this won't affect the performance of the product, it's still a design flaw. I'm sure the engineers at BD are capable of designing a screwless fastening system that would eliminate this kind of issue. Overall, a great product.

Rated 3 de 5 de Nesral Wayne par Good product, inadequate front clip sizing. Overall the skins are good, but the fact that Black Diamond has 140mm skins that come with a front clip that will not fit large skis is disappointing. You have to purchase front clips to fit their large skin (extra $18 plus shipping). It's like Hammer Gels not having enough sodium, so Hammer has you buy electrolyte capsules. Please just do it right the first time.

Rated 5 de 5 de skithegye par The best climbing skin on the market These continue to be a fabulous product. If you have good skinning technique, you can crank up pretty much any incline in any condition; they glide quite well and are the perfect compromise between efficiency and durability. I've been through countless pairs, and my estimate is that a pair will average around 400,000 vert before either the glue or the plush wears out. As long as you dry them out immediately after each use, there is never a need to reglue them because the glue tends to last longer than the plush does. I've tried most other brands and nothing has served me nearly as well!

Rated 5 de 5 de Nicholas par Great skins, beware of the larger sizes These are the best skins on the market for general backcountry skiing use offering a nice medium between traction and glide/packability. Unfortunately for the wider skins the tip loop is significantly narrower than the skins at its maximum width so on many skis that require 125-140 mm skins the tip loops will be too small depending on the shape of your tip. I would recommend a wider tip loop to match the wider skins.

Rated 4 de 5 de tamara par What is with the "screws" bought these for my son. There are 2 design flaws. 1. the tip width is just not quite wide enough for the wider skis. Made adjusting them and applying them difficult. 2. perhaps the biggest issue is that the crazy little screws used to attach the tip piece to the skin break off prematurely, making the attachment process frustrating. The slightest pressure and they broke. Either provide an entire bag or figure out a better screw design. we jerry rigged all but 2 #which did not break off#. Either we got faulty screws or need a better option. I was going to order two more pairs, one for me and one for my daughter, but have held off until I hear or see that this is fixed or improved. otherwise, he likes the lightweight and the glide as he is just getting into more backcountry skiing.

Rated 4 de 5 de Walter par My favorite skins I could tell how light they were right away. The uphill traction has been excellent. I like the lever action of the tail attachment. I have skis without a notch for the tail attachment but the lever holds perfectly anyway. I used to prefer skins with no tail attachment at all (but have also been satisfied with one other brand of tail attachment). I had never had a mohair or mohair blend skin before and I had hoped for miracles in gliding that have not yet become apparent to me. (I have had pretty cold snow so far). Overall though, these are my favorite skins that I've ever used.

Rated 5 de 5 de Turner par The Yin-Yang of the skin track If you live in a place with a continental snowpack like I do, you see skin tracks of deep pow, to corn, to frozen suncups and anything else you can imagine. This is a great skin that offers the best of both worlds. Enough glide to move on flats but plenty of stick for those steep skinners. Highly recommend!

Rated 5 de 5 de sprockter par Amazing glide & climbing abilities What a contrast to what skins used to be like 10 years ago. BD, you have really perfected climbing skins. These have the ability to climb as steep a slope as anyone, but be able to glide faster than everyone in the group. They are perfect traverse skins and I'd buy/recommend these skins in a heartbeat. The glue is the perfect amount of stick--I've used them on several -35C days and have had zero problems so far (unlike my friends). Definitely use the skin savers, though as you'll never get them apart otherwise. One thing to note: The bag it came with was fraying at the seams before I even started using the bag, but BD immediately replaced them, no questions asked. The bag is still not durable, though as after 3 uses, the fabric ripped. So don't expect much out of the bag it comes with, but what really matters, the skins themselves, are engineered beautifully.
