Whether teching your way up a run-out granite slab or hucking laps on the splitters at Indian Creek, the Aspect is an engineered trad climbing machine.

Built with the highest grade European leather upper, the Aspects balance comfort with performance using innovative designs that subtly set it apart. Lace up a pair and you'll notice that the leather upper slightly covers the laces on the outside of the foot-specifically designed for protection during abrasive jamming. The shoe's tongue is made from our Engineered Knit Technology, which adds breathability and comfort. The knit also extends to the outside of the shoe to just under the rand line to offer extra padded protection for foot jams. The lateral stabilizer rands increase precision by keeping your foot from rolling when pressure is applied to the outside or inside edges. The Aspect's stiff and durable rubber is unique in that it's molded-inspired by the way we forge our carabiners-and cut from one sheet of rubber. This is our engineered solution to optimize our shoe's rubber and rands for weight, consistency and comfort. The Aspect's medium-flex midsole adds support without sacrificing comfort.

One shoe felt good - no customer support!

"I ordered these in 44. I tried the first one and it felt comfy, decent quality. However, the second shoe came in 42. 5, I could not even slip in. Returned the product but no feedback from customer support within 2 weeks. I would sit on return fee and shipping cost if I ordered again, even though Black Diamond messed up!"

Excellent Granite Shoe

"Great stiff edging shoe that performs well on granite face climbs. Confidence inspiring on tiny granite crystals. Also performs well in the cracks. Seem to be holding up just fine after a summer of abuse. Seemed to stretch about a 1/2 size. I downsized 1/2 a size and they are comfortable enough for 1-4 pitches. I start wanting to slip the heels out at the belay for longer routes."

Comfortable and gets the job done

"I bought this for Trad, multis and comfort. It fits very well. I often have an issue with my my second toe being longer than my big toe."

Excellent shoe for crack climbing!

"I tried a demo pair at Chicks Rock climbing camp at City of Rock. These shoes were perfect - comfy enough for all day and good for cracks. I am ordering a pair now!"

Decent Trad daily, but watch your sizing

"Bought these as a daily to save wear on my TCs for serious days. Solid performance for a trad dad like me and price was awesome since I found them on clearance. Street shoe sizing recommendation is way off for a comfortable all day Trad shoe. I wear a 42. 5 street, 42. 5 in solutions, 42. 5 in Futura, 42. 5 in TCs, and purchased a 42. 5 in the aspects. Length is equivalent to my TCs that are a half size smaller, but toe box is significantly narrower due to asymmetry and has no room for any toe curl due to very stiff material and rubber. Mostly painful on middle toe even though it is not mortons. Usually have problems on big toe knuckle in most shoes, not middle. Have water stretched them to an almost comfortable state, but I would definitely size up a half or full next time. Cant handle more than a few laps in these at street shoe size."
