Built for moving fast and covering long distances, the Beta Light UL 30 is the ultimate blend of durability, lightweight construction, and load carrying comfort.

We partnered with Challenge Sailcloth to bring their Ultra 200 body fabric to our Beta Light series to create one of the lightest yet most durable packs on the trail. This durable fabric, combined with taped seams and a roll-top closure, make the pack waterproof and able to stand up to day-in-day-out use. A simple, Power Mesh stretch pocket and two side pockets provide plenty of external storage options, while the pack’s running-vest inspired shoulder straps provide support and comfort with additional snack pockets and water bottle storage options. A removable hip belt and a frameless pack body keep the pack light.

Extremely comfortable bag despite not

"Extremely comfortable bag despite not being structured. It carries 8-12 kilos very well without losing comfort. Waterproof and durable, just as I hoped. 10/10."

Like this backpack very much!

"Like this backpack very much! The front bags are amazing and the built quality aswell. What I don't like is the unsealed backside of the backpack when it gets very rainy."

Almost perfect

"Amazing backpack, lots of incredible features, comfy and light weight but massively let down by chest pockets. Not large enough for a phone, can ram it in but annoying to do on the move. Don’t know why they didn’t take the great chest pockets from the distance series and put them here."

Not waterproof back panel

"I like the pack. BUT - it is not waterproof at all. The entire back panel, from the very top over the strap attachment points and overlapping the back pocket with the foam padding, is not Ultra fabric, it may have a HH of around 10,000mm at most. I don't get it what is the purpose of making the backpack defective in the worst possible area - on the back, where water cascades off the hood of a waterproof jacket, off the shoulders and down the back of the poor hiker. Actually, I took the backpack on a trial bike trip in a torrential rain. So the backpack was effectively sloped on my back with the front of it exposed to the raging heavens unlike in a typical hiking situation. Water seeped in right through, probably from around the hydration aperture, but also through the back, and started pooling inside. This means that rain cover will be of little use as water will penatrate through the back anyway. The only solution is one of these hooded backpack covers (Mystery Ranch has these, as do Jack Wolfskin and Bach Equipment)."
