"There are many different head torch options so opted for this one at the high-mid range of BD torches. Pros: Lightweight Very bright! Cons: Too easy to knock the full power sensor on the right hand side when adjusting the torches angle, often dazzling you or somebody else. The torch itself feels slightly too heavy to feel really snug when running and I found myself often readjusting the strap. The light controls are slightly too fiddly. Holding to dim or brighten, using the correct button to switch colours, locking and unlocking the torch. . . my Petzl has the same functionality with a single button and is far easier to operate in the dark. Battery life is okay, again, my Petzl dominates here."
"the worst head lamp construction i ever had. since 2 years my headlamp broke more then 7 times. the cheap plastic construktion to close the back of the lamp is breaking so easy even if you know it and take so much care. its 100 procent fail construction. this brand is not really great quallity. also my black daimond tent lamp isnt really holding the battery,, i will not buy any product from black daimond again."

"Battery life is an issue with this model - I've had to buy 2 new sets of high capacity re-chargeables to use with it as I don't want to use single use batteries anymore. Projected battery life is hugely over-estimated so you really need a spare set of 3 x AAAs with you. The alternative of BD Li-ion is an expensive option - and £18 for a single battery - you need 2, and the charger is another £18. Other than that, the new narrow headband is far less comfortable if worn for several hours than the previous wider one. Personally am not a fan of power tap and all the fancy functions but I get that some people like them. Hoping that with my expensive new AAAs I'll get longer output from it. Looking forward to seeing how it performs with them"

"This is the 5th black diamond headtorch I've bought (3 for me, 2 for friends,) and I will continue to buy my torches from these guys. The side swipe for extra light is genius. Love that I can switch to red to read by at night. The controls for the different settings are instinctual. And now that I have a rechargeable battery for it, it's even better. Highly recommend."
