the UL Overmitts are designed for light and fast missions and stormy forecasts. Made from a 3-layer waterproof/breathable recycled nylon shell fabric, these emergency mitts can pack down to a minuscule size.
Waterproof. Breathability. Durability. Stretch. BD.dry™ 3L face fabrics are treated with a DWR solution without intentionally added PFAS and these fabrics have a hydrophilic membrane that allows water vapor to transfer through, making them waterproof, yet breathable. Applied to the backside of this fabric is a third layer, jersey backer, that feels comfortable next to the skin and allows moisture to turn to vapor before passing through the hydrophilic membrane. "No "thermal welded seams" yet, but traditionally sewed and taped with high water resistent rating still a good choice . . . . . ."
"Did a hiking trip in rain, these mittens were definitely not waterproof. My gloves were soaking wet in a few minutes. Tested the seams back at home by filling the mittens with water: they are leaking everywhere. Big disappointment."
"These are not waterproof. I've tested three pairs of these gloves. One pair bought in 2024 and two pairs in 2025. All three pairs have leaky seam taping. The gloves can be salvaged by seam sealing them your self."
